HispanicVista teams up with agency to offer Mexican auto insurance

HispanicVista.com

SAN DIEGO – Two San Diego companies announced a strategic partnership that will allow drivers traveling to Mexico to purchase insurance online.

HispanicVista.com, Inc. and the Oscar Padilla Insurance Agency have agreed to cooperate in providing motorists with auto insurance.

As the insurance agency, Oscar Padilla Insurance will be the agent of record. HispanicVista.com has designed an automated system which will be accessible through a website, www.mexicoautotravel.com. The underwriter is GE Capital – SegCen of Mexico.

“This is a major initiative,” said Sal Osio, CEO of the new media, HispanicVista. “This will allow another method for people to get their insurance from on the Internet.”

Most insurance companies that offer Mexican insurance do not have an automatic processing system available on the Internet. One can get quotes or see which companies sells insurance. But then they have to contact an agent by phone, fax or drive to the agent’s office.

“We’re taking our agency and are moving it online,” said P.J. Padilla, President of the insurance agency. The systems designed will allow a purchaser to go to the Internet and complete the transaction online and receive their insurance via, e-mail, fax or as a secure document that can be printed, he added.

The process uses GE SegCen of Mexico’s underwriting procedures and a secured credit card processing.

Juan Carlos Martin, the representative for GE Capital – SegCen of Mexico, said his company will work with Padilla insurance to ensure quick service to the motorists using this new method of transacting insurance.

In addition to the high-tech manner of getting the insurance online, Padilla assured that a “high-touch” process was also in place.

“If there are questions or if a person still feels more comfortable talking with someone on the phone, they can still call one of our offices,” Padilla said.

The dedicated servers that process the insurance are located in Sorrento Mesa at the San Diego Tech Center and are managed  by HispanicVista.com and their technology partners.

The online processing is expected to go online in October.

HispanicVista.com is a new media company pioneering ways for consumers to make transactions online. The company’s news division is also an award-winning new site, providing news of interest about the Hispanic community and Mexico. It has offices in San Diego and Los Angeles.

Padilla Insurance is the oldest agency providing motorists with auto insurance along the border. It has been in business for 50 years and its name is synonymous with Mexican auto insurance.

Backed by established reinsurance companies, GE Capital – SegCen offers multiple insurance options with claims payment capacity guaranteed. Confidence deposited by its insured and agents has enabled the company to sustain higher sales growth rates than the market’s average.

Besides offering the insurance coverage, GE Capital – SegCen offers coverage for property & casualty, life and personal accidents risks through a wide variety of insurance products.
