Mexican Film Series will close on a high note with acclaimed Mexican film, Todo el Poder.

San Diego, CA. -
Media Arts Center San Diego announced the San Diego premiere of the highly acclaimed and entertaining film Todo el Poder (All the Power).

Mexican Film Series, Todo el Poder will be screened for one week, beginning Friday, November 24 and ending Thursday, November 30, 2000.

Todo el Poder will be presented at Mann Hazard Center 7 movie theaters located in Hazard Center in Mission Valley. The film will be screened in Spanish, with English subtitles.

Todo el Poder features some of Mexico¹s hottest film stars including Demian Bichir (Sexo, Pudor y Lagrimas), Cecilia Suárez. Luis Felipe Tovar and Carmen Beato. It also includes a hip urban soundtrack from such popular groups as Ozomatli, Manu Chau and Molotov.

Todo Poder is a daring film portraying Mexican urban police as ruthless, dangerous thugs. It is also a political thriller with sophisticated on-screen action.

Todo el Poder exposes one of Mexico's most disheartening realities that much of the crime its citizen¹s face is perpetrated either by the police officers or by gangs with official protection.

The movie, about a filmmaker who takes on a band of criminals with high level protection, is based loosely on actual events. Director Fernando Sariñana began toying with the movie's concept after being robbed at gunpoint four times in Mexico City.

Media Arts Center San Diego Executive Director, Ethan van Thillo, is excited about closing the Second Annual Cine Mexicano with such a popular film.

"Over 1,300 people attended last month¹s screening of La Ley de Herodes. With such good momentum and such a timely and entertaining film, I am positive that local audiences will thoroughly enjoy this last installment of our Second Annual Cine Mexicano.  One thing is for sure, audiences in Mexico did. Todo el Poder is Mexico¹s second highest grossing film ever" he said.
