Checking out the Mexican insurance company.

Some of the more important issues to check out are:

Provided the accident is properly reported - does the Mexican insurance company have the means to properly continue servicing a claim once the insured returns to the US?

Will the Mexican insurance company pay losses in dollars or pesos?

Where are claims processed? This is of importance because most accidents involving tourists in Mexico are along the Mexico-US border. Many companies have no claims processing offices in major border cities, sending the paperwork into the interior of the country, which creates delays in settling claims, sometimes for months.
