Hispanic top 100 journalists
to be honored. Nominations being accepted.

April 25, 2001 - TJFR Group, Inc. in association
with PR Newswire, will honor 100 of the nation's
top Hispanic journalists and media personalities
at the inaugural Hispanic Media 100 event on Aug.
23, 2001 at the Biscayne Bay Marriott in Miami.
Nominations will be accepted through April 30.
"The Hispanic Media 100
represents the highest ideals and execution of
Spanish-language journalism," said Chris
Day, CEO of TJFR Group. "Honorees will be
recognized for their community service and
journalistic excellence."
Each year's nominees will be
screened by a distinguished nationwide panel of
judges and honored at the Hispanic Media 100 gala
dinner. The panel will weigh the nominees' level
of public recognition, audience size, public
service achievements and evidence of journalistic
impact.
In addition, the judges will
select members into the newly established
Hispanic Media Ring of Honor. These members will
be recognized as visionary leaders who paved the
way for today's Spanish-language reporters,
editors and news executives. Ring of Honor
nominees may be retired or deceased, and will be
considered based on their lifelong contributions
to Spanish-language journalism. A maximum of five
Ring of Honor members will be inducted annually.
Nominees for the 2001
Hispanic Media 100 must be currently employed
journalists or news media executives at
U.S.-based Spanish-language media outlets.
Freelance writers will also be considered.
Anyone wishing to nominate a
Spanish-language journalist or news executive
should include his or her own name, title,
affiliation and contact information along with
that of the nominee's. Nominating letters should
be no more than 500 words in length, and may be
written in Spanish or English.

A portion of the proceeds
from the dinner and the related publication will
be donated to provide scholarship funds for
students seeking a master's degree in
Spanish-language journalism at Florida
International University.
