MICROS Delivers Major
Technology Upgrade for Mexico's Largest
Restaurant Management Group
HISPANICVISTA - May 7, 2001
- MICROS Systems, Inc., a leading provider of
information technology solutions for the
hospitality industry, is implementing a major
operational technology upgrade for Corporacion
Mexicana de Restaurantes (CMR), Mexico's largest
restaurant management group.
CMR is installing the MICROS
3700 POS (Point-of-Sale) and Enterprise
Management Systems in all 70 of its current
locations, with the rollout scheduled to be
completed by July 2001. Additionally, these
systems will also be installed in all new CMR
restaurants as they open.
The MICROS 3700 POS and
Enterprise Management Systems are Windows®-based
and feature enterprise-wide system integration
capability and overall flexibility. Comprehensive
reporting capabilities provide added controls and
up-to-the-minute analysis for local, regional and
corporate managers. Together, these MICROS
systems offer a powerful combination of
applications to streamline front-of-house
operations for food and bar business, simplify
back- office tasks, and provide accurate,
actionable information for all levels of
management.
According to Fernando Leal,
MIS Director for CMR, this technology upgrade is
part of an aggressive plan to centralize critical
management data. "By bringing together all
of our sales and performance information with an
enterprise solution, we can better manage many
aspects of our restaurant operations,'' he said.
"We serve almost 13 million customers
annually and it is important that we maintain our
renowned service and product quality. We can do
that very efficiently with this new level of
technology.''
Jorge Van Thienen, Managing
Director, MICROS-Fidelio Mexico, noted that
MICROS was chosen following an extensive review
of corporate needs by CMR. "CMR was seeking
certain capabilities for this major technology
upgrade, and MICROS has been able to provide the
high level of functionality CMR was seeking. Our
systems will enable CMR to control pricing and
menu items at both store and corporate levels, as
well as enhance customer service in terms of
order processing, speed of service, and accuracy.
We look forward to serving CMR as it continues to
grow and expand.''
